Posted on Jeremy LinkeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Avoid this company like the plague! They are way overpriced and take advantage of people that don't know better. It's borderline a flat out scam! Our dryer was taking several cycles to dry clothes so my wife contacted Liberty to come see if it could be repaired. The technician that arrived looked at the machine for 10 minutes then said there were several parts needed, gave her an outrageous price quote of $768 for the repair and then pressured her into giving a $400 deposit so the parts could be ordered. Our washer and dryer were not high-end units and only cost $600 each new. How is the cost to repair the unit more than buying a brand new unit you might ask? Well based on my research its because Liberty charges you 3-5 times the retail cost for parts! For example, they wanted $227 for a heating element that is $40 online, $90 for washer water hoses that are $25 at Home Depot and $194 for a simple rubber door seal that is $35 online. So of course, as soon as I saw this quote, I called them (2 hours after the technician left) to cancel this ridiculously overpriced service and request a refund of the deposit and I was told there would be a 25% fee to cancel. Yes that is correct, they wanted almost $200 just to cancel!!!!! Finally, when I asked for a manager, I was told none were there and they would have one call me back the next day. Never heard from them again until a week later when we get a call asking if we still wanted to schedule the repair......Seriously?!?!?! So I called again and what a surprise, I was told no managers available and to expect a call back tomorrow. Guess we'll see if that happens this time. Will update review with the outcome! UPDATE: Finally got a call back from a manager named Blake. He had horrible customer service skills and all he wanted to do is argue that their prices are "competitive" and that they provide "great service", even though I pointed out the Huge price difference in the actual cost of parts and what they are charging. In the end they refused to budge on the cancellations fee and I am being charged $188.05 for a technician who spent 10 min looking at our machine and did absolutely nothing. I have filed a complaint with the consumer protection agency and BBB but I doubt anything will be resolved and I'll just have to eat the fee. I just hope this review helps someone else avoid getting taken advantage of by this company. UPDATE 2: Wow, what a surprise, it only took 2 YEARS for the company to respond and all they can say is we are reviewing our internal processes, which is absolutely meaningless. If you truly want to rectify this situation issue a refund for the $188 and fire that manager who is a horrible representative for your company. Anything less than that is just meaningless words to cover up your deceptive and fraudulent business practices.Posted on Carolyn OlsenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. One of the techs, Aaron, came to our home to repair the clock on our Whirlpool 25 years plus stove and tighten the oven door handle. Because of its age, the clock could not be fixed. We opted to have the clock disabled. Aaron was upfront about the cost involved and did the work plus tighten the handle. We are pleased with the outcome and would recommend Aaron.Posted on Allyson WoodsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I should have read other reviews before calling. My full story long to tell in detail. They did not end up doing the work because all that was needed was to flip the breaker at the power box. Like others I was asked to pay half up front. RED FLAG. I was also told it would take 3-5 business days for the part and 10 days went by with no call from them. When I figured out the issue on my own they said they'd refund me all but the service call charge. That took 10 full business days. They have poor reviews for good reason. If you need an appliance repair call a company that's honest, efficient, and wants repeat costumers.Posted on Cindy ConlinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I hired Liberty because they could come by the same day my fridge broke, but it ended up taking 13 days for them to repair it. The first day they came, they said it would take 3-5 business days to order and receive the Whirlpool main control board. When it came in, it was the wrong part so we had to wait another 3-5 business days, keeping our food in coolers. I was surprised that the service guy wanted me to sign off on the work before it was done on the first day he came, and they also charged my credit card the full repair cost at that time. He also asked for a google review on that first day before any work had been done. Ways they can improve: give customers full informed consent before asking them to sign off. If you tell me you need to charge me the cost of the part before you order it up-front, I'm happy to pay that. But the technician just told me that I was signing off that the work of diagnosing the problem on day 1 was done, and so I was surprised to see the whole bill charged that day. Another way to improve would be to ask customers if they are willing to pay extra for overnight shipping of the needed part. I would have paid extra to avoid all the food going bad and living out of coolers for 13 days.Posted on Kristal BybeeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had three appliances repaired in May 2023. Since then I have had problems with everyone of the appliances. One of them is an oven that is less than two years old. Not one issue was resolved. I reached out to let the company know about the issues, they didn’t seem to care and I have not got a response back yet. Poor customer service. I do not recommend this company.Posted on Shellie RobertsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Darvel (our tech) was great. He was quick, efficient and just plain, a nice guy. Brought all necessary equipment and parts and pointed out some things that I needed to attend to (venting the dryer to the outside), to avoid future hazards. Will definitely used Liberty again :)Posted on Tom BrowningTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. So the good first, they did come out and fix it, eventually. It lasted about a week! The bad, it took over two months to get to this point. In the end we’re out over $600 in parts, many weeks living out of coolers, and still a refrigerator that isn’t fixed. Took over SIX visits! We’re having to just buy a new refrigerator. Come to find out they’re only in our area one day a week (Roy). The manager was really hard to get a hold of - took arguing with the operator to finally get a call back. I read that there was possibly a change in mgmt earlier & this is what it is now. We’ve used them before with no problems. We’re done with them. Too little, too late, & still a broken appliance!Posted on nicole Elizares-CasillasTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Just had one of the techs Jerry come by and finish our oven job. We have had different service men and companies through out the years and never used the same one twice. I think that may change . Jerry was very nice, respectful . Gave me a lot of information and care tips on the appliance he was working on and a few others that were around the house. He seemed very genuine when explaining what was happening and didn’t make me feel like I was being up charged or taken advantage of because I am a women and tend to know less. I definitely appreciated that. I will keep their card and use them again.Posted on John MathisonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Same day service!
